Mika and I Go Offroading on Timp - Leaning into Virgo Earth: Palmarosa and Lemongrass
Share
Mika and I reunited for another excursion on August 16th, this time on Dry Creek trail with a goal of reaching Little Baldy on the West face of Timp. We got an early start and arrived at the trail at 630 AM. Mika was very excited to not be left behind on this hike!
Mika is ready to roll - why do we have to stop for a picture???
The trail was in rough condition from thunderstorms earlier that week, including a couple mud and rock slides that blocked the trail. We were able to carefully navigate over these obstacles and reached the fork in decent time.

We started to traverse the ridge that leads to the Little Baldy summit, and that's where the real fun began! Fallen trees littered the path, which are always exciting to navigate. I came away with a few scrapes and bruises, and even Mika got scratched up a bit on her leg, but she's a trooper!

We could not believe how tall the wild grass was! As Leo season wanes into the Earth tones of Virgo season, we waded through the amber waves with reckless abandon. Mika felt like she wanted to taste every single grain, as if each one held a universe of different flavors and she couldn't miss even one.

The tall grasses that blanketed the entire side of the mountain reminded me of two of my favorite essential oils: palmarosa and lemongrass. Both of these magical oils are derived from grass and are wonderful for supporting healing from depression and anxiety. I understand why after seeing how happy Mika is to frolic in the wild grass. This anti-fungal spray has a lovely fragrance from the lemongrass, and this all-natural deodorant combines palmarosa with other floral scents. Lemongrass also uplifts your mood and reduces fatigue. Did you know you can search for your favorite essential oil by name on our website mtnfreedom.com? Just click on the search icon and type in the oil you want to search for, and you'll be able to see all products with that oil!
Mika reflects on a hike well done
We managed to climb over the trees and the wild grass to bush whack our way to the summit of Little Baldy, which held amazing views of Cascade and Utah Lake. We completed just over 7 miles in about 4 hours. She did such a wonderful job!
Join us next time for our first hike of Virgo season as we watch out for fall colors in the mountains!
