Taking Control of Capricorn with Cedarwood and Norway Pine

Taking Control of Capricorn with Cedarwood and Norway Pine

The season of snow and ice continues and Mika and I absolutely love it!

Mika beckons me to follow

We set out on the Ghost Falls Trail in the foothills of Cascade Mountain. This is a mystical trail with lots of vegetation, and because it is largely shielded from the sun in the winter, there are lots of great snowshoeing and spiking opportunities all winter.

The road sign indicates we should turn back...

We can still smell the pine and sage of late harvest as we make our way through the arches formed by the snow-bowed boughs of the scrub oak. We felt as if we passed portals into another world and entered the magical realms of a fantasy world.

Mika seems disoriented as we pass from this world into the woodland realm

The abundance of wood and forest brings to mind two of my favorite Capricorn supportive oils: Cedarwood and Norway Pine. Cedarwood is absolutely perfect for the duty and responsibility of new beginnings and new goals for 2025. It increases endurance in difficult times and strengthens confidence in challenging situations. Its grounding effects are natural for the Cardinal Earth sign of Capricorn. Some of my favorite blends with Cedarwood include our Cedar Oasis Salve and our Nighttime Peace Massage Oil. Both of these blends are very supportive of enduring new beginnings and transitioning away from old patterns.

Norway Pine is a wonderful aroma for this time of year! It protects intuition and connects us with our ancestors. Much like Cedarwood, it connects us with Mother Earth and helps us channel Her wisdom. My favorite blend is our Winter Spice Bath Salt. There is nothing like a nice hot soak in an aromafied salt bath during the cold biting winter.

The cold winds threatened to devour us, so we quickly set on our way to the car, but not before witnessing the majesty of one of our favorite peaks in Utah County, Mount Timpanogos.
